Salvador Dali

Papillons Anciennes is a suite of 4 original lithographs, hand signed and numbered by Salvador Dali. The suite was released July of 1977 and are all in excellent condition contained in the original portfolio. The titles of the lithographs are Naissance, Renaissance, Courtier, and Courtesan, on Japon paper in an edition of CL, numbered XVIII/CL.

Salvador Dali is an extremely well educated man, particularly in history, art, and literature. He is thus able to incorporate into his paintings and graphics images that have multiple nuances of meaning and allusion. A single of his images may have the power to evoke an entire age, experience, or way of life. At the same time it might echo several other themes suggested by the composition, or perhaps stimulate totally independent emotional responses in his audience.
