Tom Reynen

Artist’s Statement

Tom Reynen is an award winning and published photographer who grew up and still lives in Minnesota but has “adopted” Vancouver, BC as his second home. He specializes in nature and travel photography and has had exhibited in many shows in the Twin Cities.  He is also on the board of Gallery 96, a non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting the arts in the northern suburbs of St Paul which are bisected by Highway 96.

“Whether in Bangkok or my own backyard, photography has encouraged me to focus on new sights, both large and small, in the world around me.  I see patterns and details that others who are in a hurry may miss.  Digital photography allows me to take those sights, give them my own interpretation and share them with others.  Experimenting with color and texture is particularly interesting for me.”
